It’s no secret that celebrities love to splash out on some of the fanciest jewellery. From Megan Fox’s engagement ring costing over £50,000 to Beyonce modelling the Tiffany diamond worth an eye-watering £22 million, they’re always at the cutting edge of jewellery trends.

But which celebs served up the most iconic looks with their jewels? We’ve analysed Google search data to find out which celebrities had the most sought-after jewellery looks and which celebrities are creating the most buzz by flashing their sparkles.

We’ve also delved into some of the most expensive jewellery ever made and provided tips on how to recreate some iconic celebrity diamond looks.

The most iconic sparkly celebs

     1. Billie Eilish - Total jewellery searches: 99,080

Taking the top spot for the most searched for the most iconic sparkly celeb is Billie Eilish, with a total of 99,080 searches for her jewellery looks. The LA-based singer-songwriter can be crowned the most iconic thanks to the number of necklace searches with 50,000, which is no surprise as the singer has released a jewellery collection in 2020. She also ranks in the top five for earrings searches, at 12,680.

     2. Kim Kardashian - Total jewellery searches: 90,500

In second place is the reality TV megastar Kim Kardashian, racking up 90,500 total searches for her jewellery looks. The socialite and beauty mogul came second in searches for rings, making up over two-thirds of total searches at just under 69,000. Since her £3 million engagement ring was stolen in 2016, Kim has been shyer about showing off her jewellery, but that doesn’t stop her from serving up iconic looks.

     3. Taylor Swift - Total jewellery searches: 79,580

Taylor Swift takes third place in jewellery searches with a combined total of over 79,000.  Just under 40,000 searches were for rings alone, which is no wonder as she recently released a wildly popular replica version of the ring pictured on her new album Red (Taylor’s Version). The pop icon also took second place for necklace searches as well as being in the top 5 for earrings.

The most talked-about sparkly celebs

     1. Kim Kardashian - Total pages: 22.8 million web pages

Taking the top spot for the most talked-about celeb on our list is Kim Kardashian, with nearly 23 million web pages devoted to her jewellery looks. Her jewellery looks rank in the top 3 for all of the factors we looked at, but her earrings take the top spot out of all the celebrities on our list with 11.6 million pages. This is thanks to her famously losing a pair in the ocean in Keeping Up With the Kardashians, resulting in an unforgettable pop culture moment.

     2. Taylor Swift - Total pages: 15.8 million

Taylor Swift takes second place on our list, with rings taking up the most pages at 7.6 million, which is no wonder as to celebrate the release of her album Red (Taylor’s Version) Swift released a replica ring like the one pictured on the album artwork. Swift also takes first place for pages mentioning her necklace, more than 1.5 million ahead of Kim K for this factor.

     3. Jennifer Lopez - Total pages: 14.7 million

The priciest jewellery looks

     1. The Tiffany Diamond - Value: £22.8 million

Taking the top spot by over £7 million is the Tiffany diamond. Because of its value, the 128-carat yellow diamond has only been worn in public three times. Originally by Audrey Hepburn for the press tour of the silver screen classic Breakfast at Tiffany’s, and more recently by Beyoncé as the new face of Tiffany’s, as well as Lady Gaga on the 2019 Oscars red carpet.

     2. Harry Winston necklace - Value: £15.2 million

Taking second place is the Harry Winston necklace worn by Gloria Stuart for the 1998 Oscars. At its centre is a rare 15-carat blue diamond. The piece is modelled after the Heart of the Ocean necklace from Titanic, the movie she starred in and was nominated for at the ‘98 Oscars.

     3. Tiffany & Co. Lucida Star diamond necklace - Value: £7.6 million

The Tiffany & Co. Lucida Star diamond necklace takes third with a value of £7.6 million. The 94-carat necklace of cubed diamonds was given its first red carpet outing at the 2011 Academy Awards and modelled by then host Anne Hathaway.

Recreating iconic celebrity diamond looks

Celebrities are always at the cutting edge when it comes to jewellery, with every new avant-garde design instantly grabbing media attention and sparking a new trend. Unfortunately, most of us don’t have the cash to finance multi-million-pound jewellery purchases, but that doesn’t mean we can’t recreate the looks. With this in mind, here are some tips on replicating your favourite celeb diamond looks for less.

The £6 million engagement ring given to Kim Kardashian, which also doubled as a birthday present featured an eye-watering 15-carat cushion cut diamond set in a pavé band so thin it looks as if the diamond is floating mid-air. To recreate this iconic design, look for the biggest cushion cut diamond with the smallest band available.

When Cardi B flashed her engagement ring on Instagram, it nearly broke the internet. Featuring a double halo setting of pink diamonds surrounding an 8-carat pear-cut diamond as the dazzling centrepiece. To recreate this design, look for a teardrop or pear-shaped diamond.

If you’re looking for the ultimate timeless design for your sparklers, look no further than Hailey Bieber’s engagement ring. The ring is an elegant 18-carat yellow gold solitaire band with a large oval-shaped diamond of an estimated 6-10 carats at its centre to create a minimalist, but classic look. To recreate this, look for a large oval stone set in a thin yellow-gold band.
